Council Leadership Represents Maryland at 2026 NCIL Conference

Eight members of our Council recently traveled to Washington, D.C., to represent Maryland at the 2026 National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Annual Conference.

The week was filled with advocacy, strategic learning, and cross-state collaboration alongside independent living leaders from across the nation. A cornerstone of the conference was the March to the Capitol—an unforgettable demonstration of disability rights and pride. Marching alongside hundreds of advocates, the energy on the streets was electric and deeply empowering, reflecting the extraordinary strength, unity, and determination of our movement.

Our delegation returns energized and ready to translate the insights and momentum gained in D.C. into continued action for independent living across Maryland.
