Notification of Closed Portion of Meeting June 26, 2025

Baltimore , MD – June 24, 2025 – The Maryland Statewide Independent Living Council (Maryland SILC) announced today that a portion of its upcoming meeting on June 26, 2025, will be closed to the public. This closed session is necessary for the Council to receive legal advice regarding its compliance with the Maryland Public Information Act (PIA).

Maryland law permits public bodies to close a portion of a meeting for the purpose of consulting with legal counsel to obtain legal advice. The Maryland SILC is committed to transparency and upholding all applicable state laws, including the PIA. The Council believes receiving this legal advice in a closed session is essential to ensuring proper compliance and fulfilling its responsibilities.

The open session of the meeting will proceed as scheduled, and all other agenda items will be addressed publicly.
