I AM Sessions announcement
The Maryland Statewide Independent Living Council and the Maryland Centers for Independent Living are presenting the return of the “I AM Sessions”. This collaboration aims to empower, educate, and uplift people with disabilities by giving the community resources, knowledge, and confidence to use their voices for change. The series includes six sessions that will take place on the
third Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m..
Session Topics and Details
The first session is on
Monday, October 20th, and is titled “Elect to Use Your Voice: Voting Rights and Access for People with Disabilities”. Other session topics include:
Understanding how the OBBB Act of 2025 will affect Medicaid, Social Security, and Disability Benefits
Voices & Advocacy
Building Community Power Through Advocacy
Building Stronger Independent Living Communities
The “I AM” sessions are for people with disabilities and their networks, including family, friends, stakeholders, consumers, and advocacy groups.
Accommodations and Registration
All sessions will have an
ASL interpreter. If you require any other reasonable accommodation, you must request it by
