Center Spotlight: Resources for Independence
At the heart of Maryland’s Independent Living Network are organizations dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live independently, making informed choices, and actively participate in their communities. This month, we are proud to spotlight Resources for Independence, serving Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties.
Resources for Independence works every day to advance the principles of independence, self-determination, accessibility, and inclusion. Through advocacy, peer support, information and referral services, independent living skills training, and transition services, RFI helps individuals with disabilities achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives in the communities they call home.
The impact of Resources for Independence’s work extends far beyond individual services. By fostering community engagement, promoting equal access, and empowering individuals to advocate for themselves, RFI is helping build stronger, more inclusive communities throughout Western Maryland.
We invite you to learn more about the incredible work being done by Resources for Independence and hear firsthand about the difference these services make in the lives of people across the region.
