1. Call to Order

  • Welcome & Introductions: Lorna-Mae Silcott, Executive Director
  • Approval: Current Agenda and Previous Meeting Minutes

2. MSILC Business & Updates

  • Council Recruitment: Discussion on the importance of member recruitment and current vacancies.
  • Legislative Update: Review of the April 28, 2026, Bill Signing and the transition to 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
  • IL Day Proclamation: Updates regarding the May 5 Proclamation.
  • Outreach & Engagement: Identification of upcoming community events for MSILC participation.
  • Communication Strategy:
    • “I AM SILC” presentation.
    • Call for participants (5 members expressed interest).
  • Independent Living Table Talk (il TT): Status updates on the quarterly series.
  • SILC Strategic Retreat: Planning for September 17–20; focus on the SILC’s Strategic Plan development.

3. Statewide Plan for Independent Living (SPIL)

  • Needs Assessment: Review of the four scheduled assessment sessions.
  • Town Halls & Listening Sessions:
    • Club 1111: Proposed dates for the week of October 5 or October 12.
  • SPIL Timeline: Finalizing details ahead of the June 30, 2027 deadline.

4. Training & Advocacy

  • NCIL National Conference: Coordination for the July 20–23 event in Washington, D.C. (9 members attending).
  • Behavioral Health Conference: Updates for the upcoming May session.

May 26-28 in Hollywood Florida, (3 attendees)

  • Local Outreach
  • Training Tracker: Review of available modules via the IL Training and Technical Assistance Center
  • Council’s personal Tracker – follow-up.
